The above pic has the most remembered lines (IMO) of the Poem Of Rememberance, but for anyone interested, here's the rest of the words....
- They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
- Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
- They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
- They fell with their faces to the foe.
- They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
- Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
- At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
- We will remember them. Lest we forget
My dad and grandfather both served in either the army or navy, and whilst neither were killed in battle, I still remember them every Anzac Day, especially my Dad. At least this year he has Mum with him. RIP to you both. Love ya
Thanks to the brave men and women of Australia and New Zealand who have fought alongside our (USA) military to assure us all our freedom and safety. I join you in honoring them today and always!
